Right? it's funny because I want to do such pranks and Patrick suddenly becomes the voice of reason. He will fantasize about it but when I speak of doing a fake seance on the beach, naked, with a margarita, he's like "you'll get arrested". He's no fun sometimes :( lol
Wow, what a fascinating and unsettling story. It really captures how a place that seems picturesque and charming on the surface can feel stifling once you live inside its rules. The details about the closed beach on Sunday mornings, the tent houses, and even the color restrictions give such a vivid sense of control disguised as tradition. I can totally understand why you chose to live in the next town over—and why the idea of existing freely there becomes almost a form of quiet rebellion.
The beach is closed until noon on Sundays….the actual beach. I very much dislike CT and in my younger rebellious years, would have gone streaking to the ocean every single Sunday.
“Beach stays closed. People are expected to be in church.” Nah. That line alone would’ve had me driving to the next town too, keys in hand, jaw set. Also Patrick plotting traffic-cone orange paint and porch margaritas in a dry town? Evil.
I've been to towns with weird rules, and they definitely stir up my inner rebel.
It's like they go out of their way to make sure no one has any joy or freedom of expression!
Just imagine all the pranks you could pull in Creepy Town! Comedy gold.

Well, Halloween in Creepytown would be a good time ;)
I went to a town kinda like that once. Once. It felt like people were doing witchcraft or something and not the good kind! lol
the people that live there are SO into it- it's disturbing.
I like Patrick lol mutiny! There's still time to go skinny dipping
He cracks me up- I get pissed and he's got a plan!
Very unsettling and a bit creepy. I would not want to live in this town either! Feels very cult like!
Incredible ❤️

Thank you for reading it so closely. “Control disguised as tradition” is exactly what I was trying to name.
Ummmmmm, no thank you to CT. No thank you very much.
I loved reading this though. No doubt it would be highly frowned upon there.
That reaction tracks 😄 And thank you — I’m glad it resonated

I get that. There’s something about the rule itself that invites rebellion.
Creepy town is perfect for that
Thank you — that word felt unavoidable
Exceptional story-telling! And I wouldn't live in CT either. Wow.
Thanks so much. That means alot!

😂 That line was the moment it all clicked. And yes — Patrick would absolutely have leaned into the orange.
